Checkout Pro
When installing Checkout Pro (Mercado Pago Checkout Pro), you may experience an increase in the approval rate of your online store sales. This is because buyers will be able to pay using a Mercado Pago account, and the entire checkout process will be conducted in our environment, facilitating the payment process. At the end of the transaction, these buyers are redirected to the store environment.
To install Mercado Pago Checkout Pro on your Shopify store, follow these steps:
- Go to your Shopify store.
- In the store's admin panel, click on Settings in the bottom-left corner of the page.
- Once there, select the Payments option from the menu on the left side of the page.
- Under "Accepted payment methods," click on Add payment method.
- Select the Search provider tab and search for the "Mercado Pago Checkout" app.
- Once you locate it, select it and click Install.
- Carefully read the information about the requested permissions and click Install again.
- After accepting the requested permissions, click Manage account to link your Mercado Pago account to your store using your credentials.
Important
The credentials are responsible for identifying the payment collecting account that you will receive in your store. If you do not enter your credentials in the store's admin panel, you will be automatically redirected to set up this step. Remember, enabling payment methods will only be possible after the successful insertion of your credentials.
- In the Mercado Pago admin, go to Your integrations and select your application. If you haven't created an application yet, access the developer Dashboard documentation to learn how to create one.
- Click on Production credentials in the left menu. Copy the
public_keyandaccess_token. - Enter your production credentials
access_tokenandpublic_keyin the corresponding fields, being careful not to invert the fields when copying and pasting the credentials.

Renew your credentials as necessary, consulting the corresponding
documentation
as a guide. After renewal, it is essential to update them in the Shopify panel. Remember: when changing the password, it is necessary to renew your credentials. To do this, delete the old credentials from the panel, copy the new ones, and paste them into the admin panel of the store.
- Click Save credentials.
- To complete the installation, click Activate.
At this stage, you can select the images of the payment methods you want to display in your store for illustrative purposes.
